Design Process for Julie's Business Cards

Art 230: Business Card Project

The next project for Typography was to design our own business card. The design process that we underwent for each project was so thorough! I'll show more of it here (compared to other projects) because it was so fun.

First, market research. Figure out what is trendy, what others have been doing, what works, what doesn't work. Practice recreating things.

After research, we began sketching out ideas, first in pencil, and then digitally. We received peer feedback on our favorites and went through several rounds of refinement.

Eventually, the favorite refinements were narrowed down to a top 3, and we began thinking about the backs and about color paletes.

From there, I had to actually make a decision on my most favorite (which is often the most difficult part) and then make some last refinements.

I ended up loving this card so much. I think an entire branding overhaul is in my near future!
