Having a handful of websites under my belt, I started branching out from personal and volunteer sites to trading services. I wanted my homeschooled girls to join the local homeschool children's choir, but the fees were steeper than our budget was comfortable with. I approached the director and asked if he would consider a trade, and he was very keen! I got to be the the web master and accompanist for the Calgary Children's Homeschool Choir for several years.
Designing the logo was a good time. The choir director largely left it up to me, so there weren't many iterations, and I decided to have fun with a stained-glass motif for the website.
After having been the choir's web master for a few years, the site got an overhaul, and that stained-glass logo that had taken me so much time to piece together got a more prominent position as a landing image.
My favorite part of this website was the parallax effect of the stained glass background peeking through the front as you scrolled. This website truly felt "sparkly" to me.
This is another extracurricular that did not survive after covid, but it was a fun project while it lasted!
